What are Metasearch?
Metasearch are online platforms that collect information about accommodation facilities from OTAs and the website and display it from a single portal. In this way, Google Hotel Ads, Trivago and TripAdvisor propose prices and availability on the various online channels for each hotel or group of apartments.
The traveler thus has the possibility to compare the offers and choose the most advantageous one.
The hotelier then appears in competition “with himself”, because the user will probably choose the channel on which the price is lower.
To optimize the online sales strategy it is essential to have a Booking Engine integrated with the main metasearches. In this way, the meta engine will also show the price on the website (which must be lower than on the portals). By going through the link on the metasearch, the traveler can book directly on the website.
